Wet Clay
Craft your own clay art piece using our potter's wheel or build a piece with your own hands. Our instructors will teach you the techniques you need to create your masterpiece.
Wet Clay Options
There are several ways you can "play in the clay" at Pottery Bayou. By appointment you may:
- Take a lesson on our pottery wheels. Learn the basics of centering clay while creating a cylinder or bowl. Price of $35 per person includes 1.5 hours of instruction, clay, use of tools and firing of two finished pieces.
- Rent our pottery wheels. Already know how to throw? Rent a wheel for the day—just $15 if you purchase our clay, use our tools and have us fire your finished pieces. If you want to use your own clay, tools and kiln, the rental price is $25 per day, per wheel.
- Handbuild with wet clay. Come and sculpt your own creation in our stuido. Our staff will teach you the techniques you’ll need to know. The studio fee of $5 per person includes the use of our clay tools and molds. You must use our clay during in-house handbuilding appointments. Total price for the appointment will depend on the amount clay used and the firing fee for the pieces you created.

Clay Pricing: $4 per pound
Firing Fees: Determined by size of finished project.
Painting Your Fired Piece: Once pieces have been bisque-fired, you may return to the studio to paint them. Regular studio fees will apply: Adults $8.00, Kids (13 and under) $5.00
